Bulletin of information on the FENICE’s activities in transnational partnerships in European Projects, within the framework of the Socrates and the Leonardo da Vinci Programmes

WELCOME...

...to the second issue of “Fenice News”. This newsletter is aimed at anyone who is interested in European Projects, but particularly at people who is interested in the themes dealt with these projects.

This issue describes the projects in which FENICE is involved as partner and the products developed by transnational partnerships, with support from the European Commission, within the framework of the Socrates Programme and the Leonardo da Vinci Programme.

We hope that this issue of “Fenice News” will help to promote these materials and methods to a wider audience, but also that it will encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences.

First we would like to tell you who we are in the hope that we may start a productive collaboration.

Our association aims at improving the professional characteristics of teachers and the standards of state schools and at enhancing democratic reforms. The Association tackles the political, social and cultural problems connected to the school world, the teaching job and the professional growth of teachers. To reach its objectives, our association:

• carries out projects co-financed by the European Union;

• carries out projects aiming at integrating schools and the world of work;

• organises meetings, courses, shows, guided tours, stages abroad, teacher and/or student exchanges

• does research, gives advice and trains people on curricular or cross-curricular topics and on relevant issues;

• produces and publishes all sorts of teaching materials;

• holds in-service courses and training courses for teachers;

• gives advice to schools and school Boards to plan and implement in-service courses

• offers vocational and school guidance.

Summary

§      NUVOLA - A new version of learning organization

 This project is addressed to editors, trainers, entrepreneurs and teachers and aims to produce a model which should be able to integrate, create and re-use widespread specific and general knowledge in order to build personalised training paths in the field of vocational training.

In a very innovative perspective, the products of this projects are marked with an identification and quality label and will be transferable in different training environments focussing on the user (seen as protagonist of the training process) and on a multi-dimensional approach of knowledge using the ICT to create differentiated, always updated, fun and interactive training paths.

This project is already well advanced.  It’s portal (www.progettonuvola.it)  presents both the aims of the project and the documents already produced:  analysis of multimedia products in the field of vocational training in Europe, integration proposals among vocational training and enterprise in Italy, assessment grid for exemplary products, methodological studies,  statistics, resources on subjects related to vocational training, e-learning and electronic publishing.

Also significant are the interactive resource centre, the web search tool and the platform which will help manage the on-line training.

§         A Web portal for the new economy

 The project stems from the need of creating an innovative web portal providing a high profile, continuous and specific training within the EU by using, inter alia, the link to public and private training bodies. In the light of the needs identified by the study and the analysis carried out on the indicators of the labour market needs within the Net Economy, we are building and implementing a portal hosting the following services:

§          A Forum open to companies, training bodies and students/users in order to promote and offer new professional figures that can be tailored on demand of the users or the companies;

§          A synchronous and asynchronous e-learning platform;

§          A data-base of professional profiles to be employed in the new- economy sector;

§          A list of links to the most important European training bodies (ministries, universities, schools, training centres, training departments etc.);

§          A certification of new tailored professional profiles guaranteed by an examination of the skills required for the curriculum that can be submitted to the companies involved.

Thanks to these services, the portal will ease the meeting of different training realities and the companies interested in the development of e-learning training based on self-assessment and tailoring of the training course.

§        VIR - Italian Journey in Romania – Exchanges for a new vocational figure

 The project aims to develop the European dimension of the training the trainers and to reduce the gap between the school education and the work market. The project consists in the mobility of the trainers in Romania to some universities, professional organizations and associations in order to identify training needs and exchange work experience necessary for developing a new professional role, namely that of "tourism development agent", and for ensuring training in giving worth and safeguarding cultural and environmental assets. The project addresses therefore the tourism sector, and in particular environmental sustainable tourism.

The exchange provides opportunities:

• to verify if the curriculum proposals for the sectorial education (e.g. learning the Italian language) fit to the actual requests of the teachers, and to the technological and organisational changes in the tourism organizations.
• to establish the content of an e-learning course that should allow getting various relevant competencies.

The exchange represents a starting point for a permanent network of different organisations with the aim of:

• disseminating diverse particular experiences and practices accumulated by partners  in the field of training in the management of cultural and environmental assets.
• permitting Romanian institutions and organizations that operate in the education field to adapt their economic, social and administrative structures, which should allow Romania to obtain the European knowledge necessary to EU accession.

The beneficiaries will be integrated into the socio-economic and cultural structure of the guest country by means of a specific exchange programme that includes visits in organizations, meetings with experts and professionals and cultural visits.

§        Join your grandchildren in learning a foreign language

 At the end of the project some considerations on the success of it can be done. The project aimed at involving and offering opportunities to retired people of learning a foreign language (English) through games and other activities to be used in their contacts with their grandchildren. Clubs were organized  in November 2003 and the lessons given to the grandparents (at least 40 hours) were based on the teaching material agreed with the partners of the other countries (Bulgaria, Greece and Spain) so that all participants knew the same topics and the vocabulary connected to them.

 And then  the most interesting part of the whole project took place : the competitions in all the four countries with the couples (grandparent and grandchild competing as a team), in which games which were similar to the ones used in class were played.

The first place was Malaga (Spain), followed by Patras (Greece) and Naples (Italy). The final competition was done in Sofia (Bulgaria) where the project came to an end in an enthusiastic and friendly atmosphere, characterized by a European dimension.

The Italian teams of FENICE were always present; they took part in the games with a remarkable sense of duty and great interest.

§     NUVOLA - Nouvelle version d’organisation de lignes d’apprentissage

 Le projet s’adresse aux éditeurs, formateurs, entrepreneurs et enseignants  et leur propose un modèle permettant d’intégrer, de créer et de ré-utiliser des savoirs diffusés, spécifiques ou généraux, afin d’élaborer des parcours de formation novateurs utilisables dans le monde professionnel.

Dans une optique profondément novatrice, les produits créés par le projet, marqués d’un label d’identification et de qualité, seront transférables dans des contextes de formation divers caractérisés par une centration sur l’utilisateur (vu comme protagoniste du processus de formation) et par une approche multidimensionnelle de la connaissance intégrant les technologies multimédia pour réaliser des parcours différenciés, constamment à jour, ludiques et interactifs.

Le projet, déjà fort avancé dans ses travaux, a créé un portail (www.progettonuvola.it) qui présente non seulement les objectifs du projet, mais aussi les produits déjà réalisés : analyse de matériel multimédia, recherche sur l’édition numérique dans le domaine de la formation en Europe, recherche sur l’intégration formation - travail en Italie, grille d’évaluation des produits exemplatifs, approfondissements méthodologiques, données statistiques, ressources et instruments sur des thèmes relatifs à la formation professionnelle, à l’e-learning et à l’édition numérique.

Il faut également mentionner la médiathèque, interactive et exploitable à partir du portail, le moteur de recherche thématique et la plateforme qui sera en mesure de gérer les formations on line.

§        UN PORTALE PER LA NEW ECONOMY

L’initiative naît de l’exigence de créer un «portail» Web novateur dans le domaine de la Nouvelle Economie qui favorise une formation continue et spécifique de haut niveau européen à travers la liaison avec des structures formatives publiques et privées.

A la lumière des exigences émergées des enquêtes et des analyses effectuées sur les indications des besoins du marché du travail dans la Net Economie, nous sommes entrain de réaliser et d’amplifier un «portail» qui comprendra les services suivants:

ü       Un forum entre les entreprises, les institutions formatives et les élèves utilisateurs pour la présentation et la définition de nouvelles figures professionnelles basées sur des profils répondant également à la demande de l’utilisateur et du marché commercial;

ü       Une plate-forme de e-learning dont on pourra jouir en modalité soit synchronique soit asynchronique;

ü       Un «data-base» de profils professionnels en l’élargissant au secteur de la Nouvelle Economie;

ü       Une liste de links avec les plus importantes institutions de formation européennes (ministères, universités, écoles de tous niveaux, centres de formation, etc.);

ü       Un certificat correspondant aux nouveaux profils professionnels personnalisés avec un examen des compétences qui ainsi permettra d’écrire un Curriculum vitæ pouvant être proposé aux entreprises intéressées.

A travers ces services le «portail» rendra plus facile le dialogue entre les différentes réalités scolaires et les entreprises intéressées au développement de la formation en modalité e-learning basée sur un système de «self assessment» et de la personnalisation du parcours formatif.

§  VIR - Voyage Italienne en Roumanie - Echanges pour une nouvelle figure professionnelle

 Le projet vise à développer la dimension européenne dans la formation des formateurs et à susciter le rapprochement de la formation scolaire à celle du monde du travail

Le projet prévoit la mobilité de formateurs italiens en Roumanie auprès des universités, des organismes de formation et des associations de catégorie dans le but d’identifier les besoins formatifs et de réaliser l’échange de pratiques dans le secteur de la formation de nouvelles figures professionnelles, en particulier celle d’ « agent de développement touristique » et de la formation pour la valorisation et la sauvegarde des biens culturels et environnementaux.

L’espace de référence est donc le secteur du tourisme soutenable du point de vue de l’environnement.

L’échange offre  la possibilité de :

§         vérifier si les propositions curriculaires pour l’enseignement sectoriel (par exemple l’apprentissage de la langue italienne) correspondent effectivement aux exigences des enseignants et aux mutations  technologiques et d’ organisation des  entreprises touristiques ;

§         identifier les contenus d’un cours de e-learning qui permet l’acquisition des différentes compétences.

Les bénéficiaires seront soit des enseignants licenciés avec de significatives expériences de travail dans le domaine pédagogique et didactique, soit des formateurs dans les secteurs de l’éducation, du tourisme et de la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel et naturel. Les partenaires d’envoi sont deux instituts professionnels à orientation touristique et hôtelière, la Chaire de Pédagogie d’une Université publique et une association professionnelle d’enseignants. Le partenariat identifié pour accueillir les bénéficiaires italiens est constitué de deux universités publiques, deux institutions publiques s’occupant de formation et de recherche et de deux associations nationales s’occupant de formation dans le domaine du tourisme et de l’intégration européenne.

§   Join your grandchildren in learning a foreign language

A la fin de l’activité de planification du projet, il est opportun de faire quelques considérations sur le succès de celui-ci.

Le projet avait pour objectif la participation des grands-parents afin qu’ils puissent apprendre l’anglais en compagnie de leurs petits enfants. La FENICE, partner du projet pour l’Italie - comme les partenaires pour les trois autres nations (la Bulgarie, la Grèce et l’Espagne) qui ont adhérées au projet – a organisé à partir du mois de novembre 2003 quatre clubs qui ont pris contact avec des professeurs d’anglais afin que ces derniers puissent activer le projet dans leurs respectives écoles.

Chaque enseignant a effectué au moins quarante heures de leçon en utilisant le matériel concordé avec les autres partenaires de manière à ce que tous les participants puissent affronter les mêmes arguments et utiliser le même vocabulaire.

Pendant les mois d’avril, mai et juin 2004 se sont déroulées tout d’abord des compétitions locales entre les différents clubs suivies des compétitions transnationales qui se sont déroulées dans les villes, sièges des autres partenaires (dans l’ordre: Malaga, Patrasse, Naples et Sofia), sous la forme de jeux et d’épreuves en langue anglaise entre des couples composés de grands-parents et de  petits enfants provenant des quatre nations intéressées.

Ces rencontres ont été caractérisées par trois éléments: 1) l’enthousiasme montré par tous les participants, 2) l’entente entre grands-parents et petits enfants et 3) la dimension européenne qui se respire dans de telles manifestations.

§        NUVOLA - NUova Versione di Organizzazione di Linee di Apprendimento

Il progetto, che si rivolge ad editori, formatori, imprenditori e docenti, propone un modello che dovrà essere utilizzato da questi mediatori per integrare, creare, riutilizzare saperi diffusi, saperi specifici e saperi condivisi al fine di progettare percorsi di istruzione e di formazione innovativi e spendibili nel mondo de lavoro.

In un’ottica profondamente innovativa, i prodotti creati dal progetto, veicolati da marchi immediatamente identificabili e di qualità, saranno trasferibili in contesti diversi, intesi come ambienti formativi che pongono attenzione sia al modello utente (considerato come co-protagonista del processo) sia ad un approccio multidimensionale alla conoscenza realizzato con tecnologia ipermediale che utilizza percorsi differenziati, di bassa obsolescenza, ludici e interattivi.

Il percorso progettuale, ormai in fase avanzata, ha consentito la costruzione di un portale (www.progettonuvola.it) che, oltre a presentare i contenuti e le finalità progettuali, ospita i prodotti sin qui realizzati: analisi dei prodotti editoriali, ricerche sulla formazione in campo europeo e sull’integrazione tra i sistemi formativi ed il mondo del lavoro in Italia, griglia di valutazione dei prodotti esemplari utili alla ricerca sullo stato dell’arte, approfondimenti metodologici, dati statistici, risorse e strumenti su tematiche inerenti la formazione professionale, l’e-learning e l’editoria elettronica.

Sono da menzionare, poi, sia per la loro rilevanza interattiva che per la loro fruibilità all’interno del portale, la mediateca, il motore di ricerca tematico e  la piattaforma che è in grado di erogare i corsi on line.

§        UN PORTALE PER LA NEW ECONOMY

 Il progetto nasce dall’esigenza di creare un portale Web innovativo che favorisca una formazione continua e specifica di alto livello europeo anche attraverso il collegamento a strutture formative pubbliche e private. Alla luce delle esigenze emerse dalle indagini e dalle analisi effettuate sugli indicatori dei bisogni del mercato del lavoro nella Net Economy, si sta realizzando e implementando il portale che ospiterà i servizi previsti: 

§          Forum tra aziende, istituzioni formative e utenti-allievi per la presentazione e l’offerta di nuove figure professionali basate anche su profili a richiesta dell’utente o del mercato aziendale;

§          Piattaforma di e-learning fruibile  in modalità sia sincrona che asincrona;

§          Data-base di profili professionali spendibili nel settore della new-economy;

§          Raccolta di link con le più importanti istituzioni formative europee (ministeri, università, scuole di ogni ordine e grado, centri di formazione, assessorati alla formazione ecc.);

§          Certificazione di nuovi profili professionali personalizzati con un esame delle competenze che permetta la costruzione di un curricolo da proporre alle aziende interessate.

Attraverso questi servizi il portale faciliterà l’incontro tra le diverse realtà scolastiche e le aziende interessate allo sviluppo di formazione in modalità e-learning basata su un sistema di self assessment e di personalizzazione del percorso formativo.

§        Viaggio dell’Italiano in Romania - Scambi per una nuova figura professionale

Il progetto mira a sviluppare la dimensione europea nella formazione dei formatori e a promuovere l'avvicinamento della formazione scolastica al mondo del lavoro. Il progetto prevede la mobilità di formatori in Romania presso università, organismi di formazione e associazioni di categoria al fine di individuare i bisogni formativi e realizzare lo scambio di pratiche nel settore della formazione di nuove figure professionali, in particolare quella di “agente per lo sviluppo turistico” e della formazione per la valorizzazione e salvaguardia dei beni culturali e ambientali L'ambito di riferimento è dunque il settore del turismo ed in particolare del turismo sostenibile dal punto di vista ambientale.

Lo scambio offre la possibilità anche di verificare se le proposte curriculari per l'insegnamento settoriale (per esempio l'apprendimento della lingua italiana) corrispondano effettivamente alle esigenze dei docenti ed ai mutamenti tecnologici ed organizzativi nelle imprese turistiche e di individuare i contenuti di un corso di e-learning che permetta l’acquisizione delle differenti competenze.

I beneficiari saranno sia docenti laureati con significative esperienze lavorative nel campo didattico-pedagogico sia formatori nei settori dell’educazione, del turismo e della salvaguardia del patrimonio culturale e naturale. I partner di invio sono due istituti professionali con indirizzo rispettivamente turistico e alberghiero, la Cattedra di Pedagogia di una Università pubblica ed una associazione professionale di insegnanti. l partenariato individuato per ospitare i beneficiari italiani è costituito da due università pubbliche, da due istituzioni pubbliche che si occupano di formazione e ricerca e da due associazioni nazionali che si occupano di formazione nel campo rispettivamente del turismo e dell’integrazione europea.

§        Join your grandchildren in learning a foreign language

 Al termine delle attività progettuali è opportuno fare alcune considerazioni sul successo del progetto. 

Il progetto mirava al coinvolgimento dei nonni nell’apprendimento della lingua inglese in collaborazione con i loro nipoti e la FENICE, partner del progetto in rappresentanza dell’Italia - così come i partner rappresentanti delle altre tre nazioni (Bulgaria, Grecia e Spagna) - ha organizzato a partire dal mese di Novembre 2003 quattro club contattando altrettanti docenti di lingua inglese affinché attuassero il progetto nelle loro scuole. Ciascun docente ha svolto almeno quaranta ore di lezione utilizzando il materiale concordato con gli altri partner in modo che tutti i partecipanti conoscessero gli stessi argomenti ed utilizzassero lo stesso vocabolario.

Nei tre mesi di aprile, maggio e giugno 2004 si sono svolte prima le competizioni a livello locale tra i vari club e quindi quelle a livello transnazionale, nelle città sedi dei partner (nell’ordine: Malaga, Patrasso, Napoli e Sofia) durante le quali si sono svolti giochi e gare di lingua inglese tra coppie di nonni e nipoti provenienti dalle varie nazioni aderenti al progetto. Questi incontri sono stati caratterizzati da tre elementi: il grande entusiasmo dimostrato da tutti i partecipanti, l’affiatamento tra nonno e nipote, la dimensione europea che in tali incontri si poteva respirare.
